Transformer Equivalent Circuit Calculation using AC magnetic Analysis

Equivalent circuit is a simple and powerful tool to predict the performance of transformers. Depending on the type of application, different equivalent circuits might be used. The normal procedure to determine the equivalent circuit parameters of a transformer is to run no load and short circuit tests on the transformer. AC magnetic analysis is a type of finite element analysis which can help to get the equivalent circuit parameters of a transformer.
In this webinar, different transformer equivalent circuits will be discussed, and their parameters will be estimated using AC magnetic analysis in EMS software. This helps to estimate equivalent circuit parameters before prototyping a transformer. Furthermore, this equivalent circuit can be used for voltage regulation of a transformer.
