For those who are looking for a full featured 3d topology electromagnetic test and great support, I think EMWorks is an excellent pick. They are only improving in terms of features so no complaints there either.

My greatest appreciation for the software lies in its integration with SolidWorks and the abundance of tutorials available. The team was consistently available to answer questions, making working on my final year capstone project much easier than it would have been otherwise. I utilized EMS for magnetic gearbox simulations, which allowed for repeated iterations, saving my team from manufacturing new prototypes repeatedly and hence minimizing research costs. EMWorks was very useful in the design and simulation of the design of my theoretical axial flux motor. The integration within the Solidworks framework makes it incredibly easy to use as well as allowed me to quickly iterate the design. I used EMWorks to evaluate different configurations of the halbach array on the rotor, as well as various different configurations of the coil windings.
I am currently pursuing my PhD at Leibniz University Hannover, and I am grateful for the generous sponsorship from EMWorks, providing me with a student license. Using EMS has enabled me to accelerate my understanding of the electromagnetic aspects of electrical machines. The fact that EMS is compatible with SolidWorks is remarkable, especially considering its feature versatility.
